Hi. I’m Peter Gourri.

Years ago, I had a successful career as an attorney in London. I specialized in complex and multijurisdictional commercial litigation and business law, which included a number of notable cases in the finance sector, commercial disputes, and other big-ticket litigation. Challenging the diplomatic immunity of institutions and governments requires solid skills and attention to detail with no room for error.

I also managed teams and held senior management roles throughout my legal career. When I moved to the US in 2016, I served as Chief Admin Officer at a Manhattan-based international consulting company. Managing the transatlantic challenges of the USA and UK staff, board, policies, culture, and values helped me see that my true skills and talents are in helping others on an individual and organizational basis.

I decided to focus on individual and business coaching and knew I needed to be the best. I was trained and remain a member of the International Coaching Federation and the International Association of Coaching. I abide by their ethics and training and qualification requirements for coaches, insisting on the highest levels of professionalism. I graduated as a Life Coach with the internationally acclaimed coach training provider Accomplishment Coaching.

I use my 30+ years of experience in business and leadership roles to help my clients improve their lives and businesses or organizations. I have clients throughout North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. I wrote Peter Gourri’s 52 Rules to Effectively “Work the Room” as a helpful guide to networking, and I’m also working on my next book.

A little bit more about me!

I served as a Squadron Leader (“Major”) in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve (Training Branch). During my 25 years with the RAF, I focused on the training, development, and coaching of teams and individuals. I was tasked to deal with several areas, successfully creating processes and procedures to ensure efficient and effective leadership of large and small teams. I received recognition for my skills and actions from the Defense Council of the United Kingdom Government. Still, perhaps the most significant recognition for me was the work I undertook with young people from all backgrounds in London, helping them achieve more for themselves.

In my personal life, I am proud to be a Liveryman of The Worshipful Company of Glovers of London, which was formed in 1349 by glove makers in London who wished to protect the high standard of their craft and was granted its Royal Charter by King Charles I in 1638. The company is dedicated to helping others through charitable means. Through the Livery, I am honored to be granted Freedom of the City of London. One of the oldest surviving traditional ceremonies today is believed to have been first presented in 1237.

Since my childhood, I have always had a strong love of the outdoors. This was one of the reasons that attracted me to move to the United States. I am a former vice chair and secretary of the New York/Northern New Jersey Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. In the United Kingdom, I remain a member of the committee for the City of London Branch of the Royal Air Forces Associations, which has been dedicated for over 90 years that no member of the Royal Air Force community, especially its veterans, should ever be left without the help that they need.

What clients say about me?

Peter offers a unique understanding of what drives leaders, how to balance ambition with empathy and what it takes to maintain your equilibrium inside and outside the boardroom. He listens to your develop aspirations and uses his diverse experience to guide and help you reach your potential. He does this though easy conversation but challenges you when needed. Peter will help you prepare for difficult situations so that you have a better chance of achieving the outcomes that you desire. My time with Peter was well spent.
